Polyethylene boats have been designed to up to 16 meters of length. The weight of a small (5m) PE boat is approximately the same as the weight of an aluminum boat of that size.

Bigger boats are lighter in PE. Only black PE is truly UV stabilized. But PE can be painted any colour.
